How do you combine indoor learning with outdoor play? At KISH Nursery we plan a fun based curriculum that covers the seven areas of learning as defined by the Early Years Foundation Stage. We follow the child's interest and plan activities accordingly for indoors and outdoors. We dedicate at least two hours per day to our beautiful garden, where children can interact with natural resources and experience nature. We are very proud of our mud hill and the fantastic mud kitchen!
Which languages are spoken at KISH Nursery? Our general language is English and we offer German language activities once a week. We are proud to include an international team as well as a multinational group of families. The children enjoy learning words in foreign languages and show great interest in learning more about other cultures.
What is the difference to KISH Kindergarten? KISH Kindergarten is the sister setting located in the Sea Scout House in Petersham. The main language is German.
Is food provided? Put instead: for our morning snack children bring their own snack boxes to KISH Nursery. We provide either fresh milk or water. Snack time is an important part of our daily routine and an enjoyable social moment for the children.
How do the settling in sessions work? The settling in process is a gradual introduction for your child. We give you and your child plenty of time to get used to the team, the routine, their peers and the new environment. A key person will be working on forming a strong bond with your child from the first day onwards. The happiness of your child is most important for us.
Do you celebrate birthdays? We celebrate each and every birthday with a cake and a special celebration.
Do you take 2yr funding? Yes, we have 2 spaces for fully funded children.
Do you go on trips and outings? Yes, we like to go to the library, the shops or the playground.
